Job Summary
This is a fixed‑term/secondment post until 11 Feb 2028 due to funding. If you are a Hywel Dda University Health Board employee applying for this post as a secondment, agreement from your current manager is required before you apply. The training post will give you the experience and qualifications needed to register as a pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Responsibilities
* Develop a high level of expertise in the supply and use of medicines within a hospital setting.
* Dispense medicines for in‑patients and out‑patients.
* Assist with purchasing and distribution of medicines.
* Provide ward‑based support and patient counseling.
* Maintain a portfolio of evidence, complete work‑based assessments, online learning and study days as part of a modern apprenticeship programme.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Minimum of four GCSEs grade A*–C (or equivalent) including English, Maths and one Science.
* Essential Skills Wales digital literacy at level 2 or a comparable qualification.
* Acceptable evidence of Basic English language skills (e.g., Essential Skills Wales Communication Level 2).
* Optional – Welsh language skills (Level 1) considered desirable.
* Commitment to study outside working hours and meet training deadlines.
