Job Description
The Lola Yamaha ABT Formula E Team competes in the FIA Formula E World Championship, combining Lola Cars' motorsport heritage, Yamaha’s technology, and ABT Sportsline's expertise.
We are seeking a Senior Performance Engineer to join our trackside and simulator performance group. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with a background in Formula E, WEC, LMDh, IndyCar, or F2 to help optimize our car, tools, and team performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Support simulator sessions, test days, and race events.
* Analyze simulation, simulator, and on-track data to provide insights and recommendations.
* Assist in decision-making during events through data analysis and feedback.
* Support simulator correlation efforts through detailed analysis and model refinement.
* Communicate effectively with engineers, drivers, and technical staff.
* Develop and improve in-house performance tools (Python, MATLAB, VBA, or similar).
Candidate Profile
Required:
* 3–5 years of experience in high-level motorsport performance engineering.
* Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics and race performance.
* Experience with motorsport data analysis tools, ideally ATLAS.
* Experience with vehicle dynamics simulation tools, ideally Canopy.
* Methodical, precise, and analytical approach.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills, especially under pressure.
Nice to Have:
* Advanced coding skills (Python, MATLAB, VBA).
* Experience with simulator and model correlation.
* Previous Formula E experience is a strong asset.
Education & Background
* Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Motorsport, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
* Proactive, self-motivated, and collaborative mindset.
