Summary
We are seeking a Senior Care Assistant to join our team at The Old Rectory in Bramshall. This role is vital in delivering high-quality care to our residents, contributing significantly to their well-being and comfort within our home.
Responsibilities
* Provide compassionate and personalized care to residents, ensuring their dignity and comfort.
* Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
* Develop and implement individual care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
* Supervise junior staff members, providing guidance and support as needed.
* Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and changes in health status.
* Foster effective communication with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
* Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge related to senior care.
* Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and safety within the care environment.
Summary of job description:
* Meeting the resident's needs based on care plans, manual handling of assignments and risk assessments.
* Supervising and training staff during their shift, looking after clients' personal hygiene, feeding and dressing, ensuring comfort, privacy and dignity of service users, maintenance of reports and records.
* Senior Carers are required to administer medication to clients as well as deal with visiting professionals and ensuring that their health and medical needs are met in full as prescribed but the GP and District Nursing Teams.
* Ensuring health & safety procedures are carried out by all staff in providing care to the patients, ensure that all service user needs are met, to undertake other specialist tasks commensurate with the senior level of the post subject to client needs.
* Make a positive contribution to and work constructively within the team, keep appropriate records of work and communications and file them appropriately.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Care Assistant or similar role within a care home setting.
* Strong understanding of senior care practices and regulations.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Leadership abilities with experience in supervising staff preferred.
* Ability to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual needs.
* Compassionate nature with a commitment to enhancing residents' quality of life.
* Relevant certifications in health and social care are advantageous.
