What are we looking for in our Assistant Management Accountant?
Russell Tobin is currently recruiting for a part qualified Assistant Management Accountant for one of its clients FP&A team who are a global family of 84 global premium international day and boarding schools.
Location: London Victoria (You will follow a hybrid working model of 3 days in the London, Victoria office, and 2 days from home)

Title: Assistant Management Accountant
In conjunction with the Management Accountant and Head of Group FP&A, you’ll help our client to maximise the short- and long-term EBITDA goals for the organisation through the development and provision of insightful, accurate and timely management information to the Board and Management team. As a genuine team-player, you’ll work together with the central, regional, and local finance teams to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their reporting and forecasting processes.
MANAGEMENT REPORTING AND FINANCIAL PLANNING
▪ Supporting the Management Accountant with the production of accurate and timely consolidated management accounts and business information that satisfy group reporting requirements and enable effective understanding of operational performance;
▪ Through development of a detailed understanding of company chart of accounts and system processes, provide advice to regional teams and ensure consistency of application across the organisation.
▪ Timely delivery of monthly management reporting to the CFO and executive team
▪ High quality reporting templates provided to school and regional teams
BUSINESS ACCOUNTING AND SYSTEMS INTEGRITY
▪ Work with the Finance Systems Manager, regional finance teams and schools to identify system improvements, efficiencies and continuous improvement of the reporting systems
▪ Undertake data cleansing and reconciliation processes where impacting financial systems
▪ Provide advice and support mechanisms for regions and school finance and information queries
INVESTMENT REPORTING AND ANALYSIS
▪ Lead the production of the monthly capex reports (maintenance & expansion) across the group and provide succinct and insightful reports on spend across the group portfolio
▪ Support with post-investment analysis of acquisitions, capital projects and IT investment to understand the success of investment activity against defined benchmarks
About you:
* Strong academic and intellectual background, degree level
* Experience in the area of management reporting, variance analysis and visual presentation of financial projections and results
* Highly computer literate with finance systems knowledge – OneStream preferred but not essential Strong commercial background and understanding of drivers of trading performance
* Part-qualified CIMA or ACCA
* Advanced Excel skills including macros, pivot tables and data modelling
