Working as a Trainee Emergency Practitioner across all sites within the Trust and upon successful qualification to work across sites should the service or staffing levels dictate. Supporting the general Emergency Department where and when necessary, ensuring patients are cared for in a safe and holistic manner.

working in partnership with clinical staff being supported to achieve education, research and clinical practice, in all areas of Emergency Care.
Act as a role model for staff in the Emergency Department, developing personally, professionally and academically in line with an agreed Personal Development Plan.

Training and Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Current registration with NMC/HCPCed
2. Intermediate Life Support (ILS)
3. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Emergency Care / Emergency Department
Experience and Knowledge
Essential criteria
4. Experience of working in ED, Minor Injury Walk in Centre, Urgent Treatment Centre (injuries) or equivalent with exposure to care and management of acute injuries
5. Broad range of experience. Nursing/Paramedic background – to include:Plastering o Suturing o Splints o Dressings and Wound Care o IT Literate o Assessing & Prioritisation of patients o Phlebotomy and cannulation skills o Oral medications competency.

6. Ability to demonstrate skills using SBAR approach.
7. Knowledge of relevant professional clinical practice and national initiatives affecting clinical practice.
