We are seeking a patient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Colne, starting ASAP. This is a part-time, temporary position providing long-term support to pupils with a range of special educational needs. The school is known for its inclusive ethos, nurturing environment and strong commitment to supporting every childs individual needs.
Key responsibilities
* Provide targeted support to pupils with SEND on a 1:1 and small-group basis
* Implement strategies and support plans set by the class teacher and SENCO
* Assist with learning, communication, social skills and emotional regulation
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals
* Help maintain a calm, safe and engaging classroom environment
Pre-requisites
* Relevant qualification in education, childcare or SEND support
* Proven experience supporting pupils with special educational needs
* Strong knowledge of SEND strategies and effective classroom support methods
* Two education or school-based references
* A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
