Job Description Job: Professional Indemnity Schemes Underwriter Salary: Up to £60,000 Location: London PURPOSE OF ROLE A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Schemes Underwriter to join a successful Professional Lines team writing a diverse portfolio of Traditional & Miscellaneous Professional Indemnity, along with some package business. You will play a key role within large PI book, handling underwriting referrals, managing broker relationships, and supporting senior underwriters with schemes development, portfolio management, and building new scheme propositions. This is a highly service-focused role requiring strong PI technical knowledge and confident relationship management skills. RESPONSIBILITIES Handle underwriting referrals across a range of PI-led professional lines. Manage and enhance relationships with brokers, coverholders, and key partners. Support senior underwriters with developing schemes and building portfolio strategy. Underwrite business in line with risk appetite, authority, and compliance standards. Assist with schemes analysis, performance reviews, and process improvements. Work collaboratively with the wider Professional Lines team. Represent the team in broker meetings, presentations, and relationship-building activities. DAY-TO-DAY Reviewing and underwriting PI risks within delegated authority. Providing high-quality service to brokers with quick turnaround on referrals. Supporting ongoing scheme development and optimisation. Working with senior underwriters on portfolio and performance management. Maintaining accurate records, documentation, and underwriting decisions. SKILLS MUST have Professional Indemnity experience (essential). Experience as a professional lines or open market underwriter. Strong technical understanding of Traditional & Misc PI. Strong relationship and communication skills. Analytical mindset with attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively within a growing team.
