Operations Manager at Amazon
Operations is the beating heart of Amazon. This key part of our business ensures the efficient dispatch and delivery of orders, so our customers receive their items on time. It is driven by Delivery Station Managers who lead teams to excel in safety, quality, and productivity across our sites. As a site leader, you will manage other managers and develop operational plans to meet targets. This role focuses on driving operational excellence to shape the future of Amazon.
Key job responsibilities
1. Manage and develop a team of Area Managers
2. Own your site, address issues, and positively influence site performance
3. Analyze site performance against business objectives and implement improvement actions
4. Collaborate with support teams including HR, Finance, DSP, IT, ACES, and Engineering
5. Design and implement initiatives to enhance operational performance
A day in the life
You will have overall responsibility for your Delivery Station, leading teams, monitoring performance, and seeking continuous improvement in customer experience. You will be involved in daily operations and contribute to innovative solutions. Your day will include stakeholder collaboration, performance analysis, risk assessment, and team mentoring to achieve top results.
Basic qualifications
* A degree
* Experience in people and stakeholder management
* Proficiency in verbal and written English and intermediate in the local language
* Experience using data or anecdotal evidence to inform decisions
* Experience in production and supply chain areas
Preferred qualifications
Preferred qualifications are not mandatory but are a plus:
* Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies
* Experience in a logistics environment
* Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
