Network Counselling & Training Ltd is a Bristol-based charity that specialises in disability, mental health and inclusion. The Head of Counselling leads our highly respected counselling service, providing affordable, high‑quality support to people across Bristol. Last year, 50 counsellors supported more than 300 clients.
Responsibilities
* Lead the full client journey from initial enquiry and assessment through to monitoring outcomes.
* Oversee the waiting list and liaise with local referral agencies.
* Recruit, induct and manage a team of counsellors, including placement students from the Diploma programme and external colleges.
* Deliver induction training, hold regular caseload‑management meetings and provide ad‑hoc support.
* Design and lead a volunteer counselling programme launching early 2026.
* Manage complex clinical situations and clinical decision‑making, ensuring all provision is delivered ethically and safely under robust policies and procedures.
* Contribute to cross‑organisational work within the Senior Management Team, including strategy, culture and business development.
Qualifications & Skills
* Strong clinical expertise in counselling, with experience in complex clinical situations.
* Excellent organisational and managerial skills.
* A warm, supportive approach, able to foster a safe environment for both clients and counsellors.
* Understanding and appreciation of Person‑Centred approaches, highly desirable.
