Your new companyLooking to step into a Senior Role?A rapidly growing engineering consultancy is expanding its specialist Data Centre team and is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer who is ready to take the step up into a Senior role. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with data centre or mission-critical experience to accelerate their career within a structured, supportive environment.You'll be joining a team delivering high-resilience, high-performance electrical systems for UK and international data centre projects-ranging from hyperscale developments to complex refurbishment schemes.Your new roleYou will be responsible for:
* Producing detailed electrical design for data centres and mission-critical facilities
* Working on resilient LV/HV power systems, UPS, generators, redundancy strategies (N+1, N+N), and containment
* Supporting senior engineers in project delivery, client interaction, and technical reports
* Coordinating with mechanical, structural, and specialist mission-critical teams
* Attending design reviews, workshops, and client meetings
* Taking ownership of work packages with a clear progression path to full Senior responsibilities
What you'll need to succeed
* Data centre or mission-critical experience is essential (UPS, LV/HV, cooling interface, resilience)
* Strong electrical building services design background
* Understanding of Tier standards, Uptime Institute principles, or similar
* Proficiency with design tools such as Amtech/Trimble, AutoCAD, Revit (desirable)
* Strong communication skills with an interest in stepping up to client-facing work
* Working toward chartership or keen to progress professionally
