Thorn Baker Recruitment have the exciting opportunity to recruit for a Commercial Finance Manager for our client based in the Bingham area of Nottingham.
About the Role
We are looking for a Commercial Finance Manager to take ownership of the financial operations while playing a key role in supporting business decision-making.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is keen to go beyond traditional finance responsibilities, contribute to business performance, and identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.

Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and manage accurate financial statements and reports.
* Ensure compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements.
* Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
* Analyse financial data to support strategic business decisions.
* Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives across the business.
* Implement and maintain robust financial controls and processes.
* Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
* Manage cash flow, forecasting, and working capital.
* Monitor project financials, including cost control, margin analysis, and risk management.
* Provide guidance and support to junior finance team members.
* Continuously review and improve financial processes and procedures.
About You
* Professionally qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA).
* Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting standards.
* Experience working within an SME or within an industry environment.
* Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Proven track record of producing clear and concise management information.
* Experience implementing and improving financial processes.
* Proactive, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
* Confident in identifying and resolving issues.
