About the RoleWe are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Loading Shovel Operator to support daily operations at our Glenside site. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy plant machinery, particularly a loading shovel, to ensure the smooth and safe movement of materials across the site.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform daily pre-start checks on the loading shovel and other plant equipment; report and document any defects.
* Operate the loading shovel to support material processing operations.
* Feed materials into process machinery such as shredders or screeners.
* Refuel and carry out general maintenance and cleaning of machinery.
* Move and maintain material stockpiles.
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
* Comply with all company health & safety procedures and site rules.
* Carry out other duties as required by management.
Person SpecificationEssential Criteria:
* Minimum 1 year of experience operating heavy plant machinery
* Strong commitment to health and safety compliance
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
* Full UK driving licence and access to transport (may be required to travel between sites)
Desirable Criteria:
* Valid Loading Shovel Licence
* Previous experience working in the waste or recycling industry
* Familiarity with processing equipment such as screeners or shredders
