The School Administration Assistant plays a crucial role in the day-to-day life of Oakham Shires School by providing administrative support within the Administration Team to ensure smooth operations.
The post holder will:
1. Set up confidential record files for new children, ensuring Data Protection compliance, and maintain these files accurately and promptly.
2. Archive children's files correctly when they leave and support the SENCo with pupil admissions, including booking and minuting transition meetings, sending parent packs, and setting up new pupil records on Provision Mapping SharePoint.
3. Handle Consent and Information packs efficiently, share notable information with relevant staff, and ensure daily register checks and timely submissions to DfE, Local Authorities, and Welfare Call in the absence of the School Receptionist.
4. Maintain up-to-date driver declaration records, report discrepancies, and assist with first aid records and medication administration in line with school policies.
5. Provide a professional and courteous reception service, greeting visitors, informing relevant staff of arrivals, and arranging refreshments as needed.
Requirements include relevant administrative experience, good organizational and time management skills, ability to work independently and in a team, motivation skills, and GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
