Business Support Officer



Contract: 12 months fixed term

Location: Hybrid, Blueschool House and Home

Hours: 37 per week

Salary: HC5 £25,989 - £28,142 per annum

Closing date: Sunday 22nd February 2026

Introduction

Herefordshire Council is responsible for providing temporary accommodation to individuals and families to whom a homeless duty is owed. Each placement requires the accurate submission and management of Housing Benefit claims.

The Role

The Temporary Accommodation Team is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and flexible individual to join the service. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the effective delivery of temporary accommodation and ensuring Housing Benefit claims are processed efficiently and in line with relevant legislation and procedures.



What will you be doing?


Accurately input, update, and maintain Housing Benefit claim information on the council's benefits management systems, with particular emphasis on claims for residents in temporary accommodation.
