This post supports the Operational Lead pharmacy technician and Clinical Pharmacy Manager to deliver high quality ward level medicines optimisation services across all sites at the Royal Cornwall.
The post-holder will be responsible for the leadership and management of the Medicines Optimisation technician and pharmacy support team. The successful candidate will lead a team of approximately 20 staff members.
Main duties of the job
Manage and lead the Medicines Optimisation technician and assistant workforce.
Manage Medicines Optimisation services provided by RCHT to external organisations covered in Service Level Agreements.
Manage and lead the service delivery of the ward-based Medicines Optimisation service including staff, equipment and budget.
Support training in ward-based medicines management and optimisation activities.
Audit Services to ensure they meet legal requirements and follow best practice standards.
Manage the rotas for allocated pharmacy staff, to ensure there is adequate cover in all areas of the Pharmacy Department by working closely with other pharmacy section leads.
Be a member of the senior operational team.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Pharmacy Technician's Certificate through City & Guilds, Apothecaries Hall, BTEC or NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Science
* GPhC Registration
* Teaching / Training Qualification
* NVQ4 Diploma in Management or equivalent
* NVQ Assessor Award
Experience
* Significant experience post qualification as a Technician in hospital pharmacy
* Experience of Top Up systems and Medicines optimisation services
* Previous experience in a dispensary/patient services environment
* Experience and knowledge of Good Distribution Practice
