Research Associate (AP12750) - Bath, BA2 7AYAbout the roleThe Rheumatology Research Group (RRG) at the University of Bath and the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases uses anonymised databases from primary and secondary care with associated biobanks focussing on rheumatic disease for numerous research projects. The group has made significant contributions to the scientific literature with meaningful clinical impact using a variety of local, national and international databases over the last 30 years. The combined data is a valuable resource for the academic development and research needs of doctoral students, clinical fellows and other early career researchers. As data management including cleaning, curating, merging and analysing data becomes ever more complex we are seeking a research associate to support our wide ranging research group.You will join a vibrant and productive research team, within which your role will be to coordinate and facilitate the team’s access to research databases including the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (comprising anonymised medical records from primary care), the rheumatology biobanks at the Royal United Hospitals and related lab/clinical databases at the University of Bath. You will have expertise in data management and programming to supply data to the project teams for statistical analysis and contribute to publishing results in high-quality peer-reviewed academic literature.
