Reporting to the 2nd. Operations Production Manager the Welder/Fabricator will be responsible and accountable for producing fabricated and welded assemblies to customers drawing ensuring they meet quality expectations and are produced to a high standard. The Welder/Fabricator will work closely with the Technical Sales Manager referring to the welding dashboard to plan capacity accordingly.
The Welder/Fabricator should always demonstrate the 3 key FC Laser virtues (Humble, Hungry, Smart) and the key behaviours of Trust, Healthy Conflict, Commitment, Accountability and Results.
Key Areas of Experience, Accountability and Performance
· TIG weld mild/stainless steel and aluminium from thickness 1-8mm in thickness.
· MIG weld mild steel in thickness ranging from 2-15mm in thickness.
· Read and interpret welding assembly drawings and symbols to BS EN 22553.
· Produce and manufacture jigs to streamline the manufacturing process and improve efficiency.
· Actively contribute to process improvements to increase efficiency.
· Work with minimal to no supervision under own initiative.
· Dress/clean up welds where necessary including dressed/polished finishes.
· Ensure that health and safety regulations relative to welding processes are adhered to at all times.
· Manage consumables and stock levels to ensure uninterrupted production.
· Support the sales/technical department with queries about welding jobs..
· Assist in training/supervising apprentices when required.
· Work to the welding plan to ensure we have no arrears at all times.
· Produce welded and fabricated assemblies to a high level of quality in-line with the Company's philosophy.
