Hours: 21 hours per week (0.6 FTE)
Location: 29-31 Montgomery Street, Belfast

Remuneration: £25,476 - £27,919 Pro-rata
Overall Purpose of Post: The Volunteer Engagement Co-ordinator is responsible for volunteer retention and coordination across the organization, ensuring effective data management, monitoring, evaluation, and supporting volunteer recruitment, induction, and support to meet organizational needs. The role also involves contributing to service development, promoting good practice, and collaborating with Service Leads & SMT.
Key Responsibilities:
* Volunteer Coordination: Implement recruitment strategies, oversee the volunteer database, maintain inventories, process Access NI checks, update role descriptions, organize training, develop initiatives, promote volunteering, and support volunteer retention and recognition.
* Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning: Develop and support monitoring and evaluation processes, assess outcomes, manage volunteer satisfaction surveys, and ensure alignment with funding requirements.
* Quality Assurance and Development: Support policy reviews, ensure standards, promote diversity and inclusion, and support compliance with legislation and best practices.
* Data and Information Management: Collect, analyze, and report data, ensure GDPR compliance, and support service provision and fundraising efforts.
* External Relationships: Build stakeholder relationships, attend external meetings, and develop partnerships with various organizations.
* General: Work as part of a team, promote Cancer Focus NI, and undertake other duties as required. Willingness to undertake training and flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends.
Person Specification:
Essential Experience: Delivering volunteer training, organizing events, managing people or volunteers.
Qualifications: Relevant work experience, minimum GCSE English and Maths.
Skills: Excellent communication, self-management, organizational, negotiation, IT proficiency, teamwork, and independence.
Personal Qualities: Adaptability, empathy, supportive attitude, commitment to values.
Other: Flexibility, full driving license, access to transport.
Desirable:
Experience in health and social care, community engagement, training development, volunteer involvement, and relevant management qualifications.
