Pre-pull Engineer – Direct Labour Operations
Reporting to: Field Manager
Full time: Monday to Friday, 45 hours a week between 7am-7pm. Saturdays required on a rota pattern, paid as overtime.

Job Purpose:
Reporting directly to the Field Manager, the pre-pull engineer will install and service overhead and underground networks using Openreach PIA and Netomnia-specific infrastructure. The role involves installing right first time, maintaining excellent customer service, and updating systems promptly throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities:
* Primarily work on customer installation pre-pulls, with occasional assistance on overhead and underground cabling and CBT installation.
* Manage tools issued and the vehicle as per policy.
* Complete assigned tasks on time and manage daily jobs efficiently.
* Perform minor civil works on customer boundaries, including blockage clearance.
* Install customer lead-ins from Netomnia-built networks.
* Run cables from the Netomnia CBT (overhead and underground) to customer properties, following H&S best practices.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise:
* Experience in a similar role working on or for the Openreach Network.
* Ability to conduct risk assessments and hazard identifications, emphasizing health and safety.
* Proven networking engineering experience (preferred).
* Excellent organizational skills.
* Clear communication skills.
* Physical fitness for manual handling tasks.
* Ability to foster good relationships within the team and with customers, with a strong customer service attitude.
* Proactive approach to improving efficiency and working smarter.
Minimum Requirements:
* Full UK driving license for at least 12 months.
* SA001, SA002, S7, S8 or equivalent certifications.
* IPAF 1b certification.
* Full NRSWA operator’s license (excluding Hot lay).
* Smart Awards (preferable).
* Telecommunications experience or transferable skills.
