The opportunity: We are looking for a Paralegal to join our highly-regarded Intellectual Property team at Baker McKenzie, Belfast. The successful applicant will support the Firm's Intellectual Property practice, handling IP prosecution, maintenance, and transactional work in a deadline-driven environment. You will work on rapidly developing IP portfolios of global clients and need a broad understanding of international IP requirements. The role involves coordinating with diverse teams worldwide and providing key support to senior professionals.

Main responsibilities:
* Support global IP matters, including formalities, prosecution, maintenance, renewal, and post-registration steps.
* Prepare client reports independently.
* Assist with IP M&A activities, including registration of assignments, licenses, and security interests.
* Conduct IP asset due diligence using official registries and databases.
* Support anti-counterfeiting programs, including drafting guides and liaising with infringers.
* Perform trademark searches and monitoring services.
* Develop legal knowledge to support firm lawyers and clients.
* Ensure compliance with firm procedures and standards.
* Manage deadlines and workload proactively.
Essential criteria:
* Relevant undergraduate degree with 2.1 or above (preferred).
* Legal background with IP/trademark experience (preferred).
* Authorization to work in the UK.
Desirable criteria:
* CITMA qualification (advantage).
