Job Title: Raw Material Technologist Location: EveshamJob Type: PermanentReporting into: Senior Supplier Technical ManagerSalary: £35-40kHours: Mon-Fri 8am-4pmMain purpose of the role:To support the technical approval, monitoring, and ongoing compliance of raw materials, primarily ingredients and packaging, with occasional involvement in fresh produce.The role will develop technical competence, supplier-facing experience and commercial understanding, with progression toward a future management role.Job Responsibilities:Support the supplier approval and onboarding process for new raw materials and suppliersMaintain and review due diligence documentation in line with customer and industry requirements (e.g. specifications, certificates, quality attribute sheets)Assist with creating, updating and maintaining raw material specificationsSupport the maintenance of the approved supplier listAssist with supplier performance monitoring and basic data analysisSupport raw material surveillance activities (e.g. testing schedules, traceability exercises)Assist in maintaining raw material risk assessments and vulnerability assessmentsSupport horizon scanning activities by gathering information on emerging supplier or raw material risksRecord supplier non-conformances and support investigationsTrack corrective actions and follow up with suppliersReview finished product artwork for accuracy, ensuring packaging due diligence and specification documents are maintained.Update and maintain customer and supplier monitoring platforms (e.g.Authenticate, Food Expert, Sedex etc.)Support internal audits and preparation for external audits and customer visitsAssist with supplier visits and audits alongside senior team membersHelp generate reports and KPIs to support technical decision making Job requirements:Skills & Experience required to do this roleExperience in a food manufacturing or supply chain environment (placement or graduate experience acceptable)Strong attention to detail and organised approach to workGood communication skills with confidence to engage suppliers and internal teamsProficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to learn and navigate new systemsWillingness to learn, develop and take on increasing responsibilityAuditing experience or interest in developing audit skillsQualifications:Food Science degree (or equivalent industry experience)HACCP Level 3Food Safety Level 3Company Benefits:25 Days holiday plus Bank HolidaysCompany pension contributions 5%Health Cash Plan Westfield HealthLife assurance up to 4x annual salaryTPBN1_UKTJ
