Job Title: Senior Drilling Engineer (Hybrid Working)
Overview: The Senior Drilling Engineer is responsible for planning, executing, and supporting safe, efficient, and cost-effective well operations and abandonment activities. This role involves designing, managing costs and risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders for successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and execute drilling and abandonment operations in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements
Prepare and review drilling programmes, cost estimates, and risk assessments
Provide technical expertise for project planning, contractor selection, and tender evaluations
Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities for cost and efficiency optimisation
Support ongoing operations with engineering advice and technical solutions
Ensure compliance with well examination schemes, safety case regulations, and environmental standards
Prepare and maintain all regulatory and operational documentation
Review and update well operations procedures and manuals
Evaluate and implement new technologies and equipment to improve performance and safety
Collaborate with partners, contractors, and regulatory bodies as needed
Promote and enforce company health, safety, and environmental policies
Qualifications and Experience:
Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
Significant experience in well engineering and operations
Thorough understanding of drilling practises and well control principles
General knowledge of geology, petroleum engineering, and reservoir management
Field experience in wellsite operations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Valid IWCF Well Control certification
Valid BOSIET certification
