About SPT Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) is the largest of Scotland’s seven regional transport partnerships. We run the Glasgow Subway, a host of specialist bus services and are responsible for delivering better public transport for all. SPT is the proud custodian of the Glasgow Subway. About the Role The Lead Training Officer (Operations) is a member of the Subway Operations management team supporting the Head of Service Operations & Security (Subway) to plan and manage the overall training and competence requirements for operational readiness and beyond within Subway Operations. You will manage a small team of Training Officers. You will be responsible for the design, development and delivery of training materials and approach in line with good practice, business needs and technological advances. You will assist in the development of revised operational processes, including the Subway Rules and Regulations to ensure Subway staff are ready for the next phase of Subway Modernisation as well as ensuring continual improvement in the delivery of our service. About You The successful candidate will have experience of leading a team to delivery consistent level of service and support as well as working in a safety critical environment. You will have an in-depth understanding of an operational environment and customer service excellence. Knowledge of a rail or transport industry operational environment and control room are desirable. A Degree is desirable with a training delivery qualification (City & Guilds, MOI or equivalent) essential. A highly motivated, professional, reliable and capable individual you will have the ability to develop staff through coaching, mentoring and knowledge transfer. You will be able to adapt and create changes to continually improve performance. You will be able to demonstrate high levels of flexibility and be able to communicate and articulate effectively at all levels within the organisation.
