Overview
Rehabilitation Assistant Practitioner (RHAP) – Fixed Term 42 weeks – NHS Ayrshire & Arran, Department of Therapy Services, Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh (Major Trauma Centre). This role supports the delivery of intensive rehabilitation to patients with complex multisystem injury within the new Major Trauma Service.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a delegated patient caseload in partnership with registered Allied Health Professionals (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Dietetics) to deliver holistic rehabilitative interventions.
* Assess patients’ rehabilitation needs, modify existing treatment plans, and progress patients independently and within multidisciplinary team sessions.
* Reassess and support discharge planning in line with the scope of practice.
* Work across the Major Trauma Service, covering the dedicated acute inpatient ward and outlying wards stepped down to.
Qualifications & Experience
* Motivated and enthusiastic, with evidence of experience managing a delegated caseload in health, social care or the independent sector.
* Good awareness of the role of Allied Health Professions; prior experience in a rehabilitation setting is desirable.
* Support and development will be provided through training, supervision, CPD opportunities and formal appraisal processes.
Working Hours & Commitment
Regular weekend commitment (1:8). Weekend day shifts are balanced with days off on weekdays.
