Howmet Fastenings Systems (HFS) is seeking a Multi‑skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our Aerospace Manufacturing facility in Redditch, B98 7TD, United Kingdom.
Responsibilities
* Provide an effective and efficient service to ensure all manufacturing machinery and site services are maintained both electrically and mechanically through the planned maintenance schedule.
* Respond to breakdowns in line with the priority system.
* Determine the cause of potential failure or performance deterioration, and either complete remedial work during the shift or brief the subsequent shift on the issue, cause and recommended solution.
* Record breakdown and task information on completion of repair or improvement using Piranha system.
* Undertake servicing of machines and ancillary equipment as per the relevant schedules.
* Carry out facility repairs and maintenance as per the schedule or as and when required.
* Source and obtain parts and materials as required following the procedures of the procurement system.
* Maintain the relevant stock levels of spares and consumables, reviewing and updating the register.
* Ensure the correct tools and equipment are available to carry out the tasks and repairs.
* Ensure 5S standards are maintained in the maintenance workshop at all times.
* Ensure all work is carried out to relevant legislation and EHS standards.
* Support efficiency improvements through engagement of ABS methodology & deployment.
* Undertake improvement activities that enable efficiency improvements to the plant.
* Be a flexible team member, training in other disciplines where required.
* Maintain full compliance with Howmet policies and procedures and conduct all activities in accordance with the Howmet Guide to Business Conduct.
* Adhere to all company EHS requirements and actively participate in the identification and elimination of hazards.
* Undertake and promote their own self‑development, in line with company and personal aims.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Certification in Electrical & Mechanical disciplines.
* Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a busy manufacturing environment (including machining, motor controls, plumbing, welding, pneumatics).
* Familiarity with the function and operation of various manufacturing equipment and processes (e.g., heading, thread rolling, drilling, heat treatment considered advantageous).
