We are seeking an experienced Senior Transport Consultant (5-8 years' experience) to join a growing Transport & Highways team, delivering high-quality transport planning and highways advice for development projects within Milton Keynes.
About You:
You will have a strong consultancy background, able to manage projects, liaise with clients and local authorities, and mentor junior colleagues. Candidates stepping up from Consultant level or established Seniors looking for more responsibility will be considered. Commercial awareness, client-facing ability, and technical expertise are essential.
You should have experience in preparing Transport Assessments and Travel Plans, junction modelling (Junctions 9/10, LinSig, TRICS, TEMPro), and providing advice to support planning applications. Knowledge of sustainable transport and active travel strategies would be an advantage. Excellent communication, report writing, and project management skills are required. Chartered status (CEng, CTPP, CMILT or similar) is desirable, or you should be actively working towards it. A full UK driving licence is required.
The Role:
* Lead the preparation of reports, studies, and assessments.
* Provide expert transport advice to clients, planners, and local authorities.
* Attend and lead meetings, supporting projects as part of multidisciplinary teams.
* Mentor junior staff and contribute to bid writing and business development.
