Bradford 2025 is searching for freelance Duty Event Managers to join our freelance database.
The Bradford 2025 Production Team is looking to hear from Bradford/West Yorkshire-based freelance Duty Event and FOH Managers interested in freelance opportunities throughout the year.
We are particularly looking for Duty Gallery Invigilators to support a range of long-running temporary art exhibitions.
Key Skillset
* Venue, Museum & Gallery, and Site management experience (particularly temporary spaces)
* Event front of house, invigilator, visitor experience, or equivalent experience
* Volunteer management
* Venue liaison
* Contractor management (notably security and stewarding)
* Understanding and implication of relevant health and safety measures
* Stakeholder engagement (including project partners)
* Understanding of applicable safeguarding implications
* Preferably box-office experience
* Preferably crowd management experience
Scope Of Work
The projects requiring freelance Duty Event Management will vary in format, scale, artform, and shift lengths.
The scope of projects may include but is not limited to:
* Overseeing the safe and efficient running of public live events and exhibitions in permanent and temporary venues, remaining on call as the point of contact during these events
* Participating in event team briefings, including security, stewarding, volunteers, and other partners
* General cleaning and maintenance of exhibition and installation spaces
* Managing contractors, staff, and volunteers on site
* Engaging with Bradford 2025 audiences professionally and knowledgeably
* Overseeing accessible elements, such as setting up Relaxed Spaces, where applicable
* Keyholding duties, where applicable
* Managing health and safety measures based on risk assessments
* Checking temporary structures or electrical items as required
* Overseeing installation of site dressing, approved by Bradford 2025
* Monitoring capacity and managing evacuation procedures
* Completing event reports after each session
* Participating in required training
