Job summary
Highwoods Surgery is a friendly and supportive practice with an expanding population and weare looking for an experienced nurse practitioner to join our team to work across both Highwoods and Bluebell sites, on a full time basis for hours per week.
Main duties of the job
The main responsibilities of the role:
1. Assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating treatment and interventions, as well as caring for patients with an undifferentiated diagnosis.
2. Utilising autonomous clinical skills and a broad and in-depth theoretical knowledge base.
3. Managing a clinical caseload, addressing presenting patients needs in a primary care setting.
4. Ensuring the highest standards of care are provided for patients.

Qualifications
Essential
5. NMC registration and active PIN
6. NMC requirements for advanced practice nurse
Experience
Essential
7. 2 years post qualification experience in general practice setting or equivalent
8. Nurse-led management of minor illness, minor ailments, and injuries
9. Nurse prescribing
10. Recent primary and community nursing experience would be desirable but not essential.
Knowledge and Skills
Essential
11. Advanced clinical practice skills
12. Management of patients with long-term conditions
13. Management of patients with complex needs
14. Clinical examination skills
15. Communication skills, both written and verbal
16. Self-directed practitioner
17. Highly motivated
18. Ability to work with clinical and administrative staff within the practice
19. Leadership and mentorship clinical setting
Desirable
20. Clinical review experience in asthma, COPD, diabetes would be desirable but not essential
21. Experience of SystmOne would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided
