We are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a leading Further Education college in the Cambridgeshire area for an enthusiastic and dedicated Lecturer in Plumbing to join their thriving Construction department.
This is an excellent opportunity to inspire the next generation of plumbers through high-quality teaching, in both practical workshop and classroom settings. You will play a key role in curriculum development, provide tutorial support to learners, and contribute to maintaining the college’s outstanding reputation for student achievement and progression.

Key responsibilities
• Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching and assessment across a range of Plumbing programmes.
• Develop, adapt and maintain learning materials, schemes of work, and assessment plans.
• Ensure all delivery meets awarding body requirements and college standards.
• Support and guide students through their learning journey, providing regular feedback and progress tracking.
• Undertake internal assessment, verification, and moderation duties as required.
• Maintain strong industry links and participate in professional development to ensure teaching remains current and relevant.

Essential skills and experience
• Significant industry experience within the Plumbing and Construction sector.
• Minimum Level 3 vocational qualification in Plumbing.
• Ability to engage, motivate and support learners of all ages and abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to high standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
• Willingness to undertake further professional development, including gaining a teaching qualification if not already held.

• Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
• Experience of assessing and verifying vocational qualifications.
• Ability to embed Maths, English and wider skills development within vocational teaching.
