An exciting opportunity has arisen in York for an experienced Civil Engineer (Graduate +3 years) to join a forward‑thinking consultancy delivering high‑quality infrastructure and flood risk solutions. Responsibilities
The engineer will be producing Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies, designing surface and foul water drainage systems, and contributing to flood alleviation and coastal erosion schemes. The role involves shaping projects from early feasibility through to detailed design and working on a wide range of developments that demand smart, sustainable, and resilient solutions. Close collaboration with planners, architects, and fellow engineers is a key part of the role, ensuring integrated and well‑considered designs. For those not yet chartered, the position offers clear support and encouragement to progress towards professional qualification.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will already have experience in a consultancy environment, with a solid understanding of SUDS, attenuation systems, and infiltration design. Confidence using Civil 3D and InfoDrainage is essential, alongside strong written and verbal communication skills that allow technical ideas to be clearly articulated.
