Salary and terms
* Principal Management Accountant — Band 7 £50,861 to £59,159 per annum, plus Distant Islands Allowance of £1,406 per annum, 37 hours per week, permanent post.
* The post is also suitable for a development post — Management Accountant, Band 6 £41,608 - £50,702 per annum, plus Distant Islands Allowance of £1,406 per annum, 37 hours per week, fixed term post for 24 months until completion of qualification.
Responsibilities
You will provide specialist knowledge, expertise, advice and information to all levels of management in respect of financial matters, enabling them to achieve economical and efficient use of resources. You will lead a small team, reporting on all aspects of NHS Western Isles revenue spend and contribute towards the development of the management accounting capability.
Qualifications
You will be an experienced and professionally qualified accountant with current membership of a CCAB body or actively working towards achieving qualification. You will have significant experience in the use of computerised financial systems and highly developed financial knowledge and ability across the range of key result areas. You will bring experience of financial analysis and modelling and a detailed understanding of accounting procedures with sound analytical and good reporting skills. Experience of budgeting, budgetary control and the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial managers is essential.

Based in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis, you will be at the heart of some of the UK’s most spectacular scenery, with relativamente short journeys to Glasgow, Inverness and Edinburgh. Residents are entitled to 40% discounts on flights to the mainland (www.airdiscountscheme.com).
This post is eligible for up to £8,000 relocation expenses (Relocation Policy available on request). Based in the Health Board Offices in Stornoway, this post is not suitable for remote/hybrid working.
