Manufacturing Supervisor

Salary: up to circa £50,000 per annum
Hours:Monday to Friday 40 hours per week
Prince are happy to be supporting an established client based in the north Shropshire area, who currently have a fantastic opportunity to join their business as a Manufacturing supervisor. In this newly created role, you will be overseeing the daily production operations, driving efficiency, supporting the development production team and ensure that all quality and safety standards are being upheld.
This role would suit someone with a strong background in a fabrications environment who is either in a lead / supervisor / team leader role already, or someone looking for the chance to use their existing experience and step up into more of a leadership position.
The Manufacturing Supervisor will be responsible for:
Manage daily factory operations, ensuring production schedules and targets are consistently achieved
Lead and inspire a team of production staff through effective supervision, coaching, and performance management
Allocate tasks and optimise labour resources to maintain smooth workflow and operational efficiency
Uphold manufacturing standards, quality assurance protocols, and health & safety compliance
Utilise welding and fabrication expertise to support troubleshooting, training, and technical guidance on the shop floor
Champion 5S and lean manufacturing principles to maintain a clean, organised, and high-performing work environment
Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements to boost productivity and reduce waste
Analyse production metrics and performance data, providing insights and recommendations to improve operations
Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to resolve equipment and process-related issues
Foster a positive, safety-conscious, and team-oriented workplace culture
Skills and Experience
Proven experience in a Manufacturing / Production / Fabrications supervisory or team leadership role within manufacturing, fabrication, or production
Hands-on proficiency in welding and metal fabrication techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, structural or sheet metal)
Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of motivating and developing teams
Practical knowledge of 5S and lean methodologies, with experience in implementation and maintenance
Demonstrated success in improving operational efficiency and reducing downtime
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments
Solid understanding of factory safety standards and regulatory compliance
