Music Technician The Hemel Hempstead School 14 hrs per week Term Time Only (actual times can be flexible, subject to the needs of the business) H2 (Actual Salary £7,825) Interview date: TBC Start date: September 2025 We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed person to join our Music Department on a part-time basis (term time only) to provide support and assistance to staff and students. The suitable candidate will be responsible for a wide range of tasks such as, taking responsibility for preparing and operating sound for all performances, checking and maintaining all musical and electrical equipment, and the management and maintenance of Mac suites. Previous technical experience in this area or a similar related area are essential. We are seeking a suitable candidate to start in the role with immediate effect. The Music Department has two teachers, a part time Music technician plus centralised administrative support. The Head of Performing Arts oversees the running and management of the faculty. The department works very much as a team, supporting each other in curricular and extra-curricular aspects of the subject. We also work very closely with the other departments in the Performing Arts faculty, namely Drama and Dance. Results in Music are very good and significantly above the National Average. At KS4 students follow the Edexcel Music Specification and Eduqas Specification at KS5. Music students have full use of a Mac suite, recital room and 7 practice rooms to support their studies. Our high expectations, supportive environment and excellent teaching ensure good results.
