As Head of Communications & Campaigns, you will provide senior leadership across public campaigns, stakeholder and public communications, and media relations for UK & Ireland 2028 Limited. Working closely with UEFA and delivery partners, you will shape how the tournament is understood, experienced and celebrated across the UK and Ireland. This will include: Designing and delivering high-profile, public facing campaigns, including community-focused initiatives. Leading integrated planning across campaigns, communications, media relations, content and stakeholder engagement. Setting and overseeing the media and reputation management approach, including proactive engagement and robust issues management. Coordinating communications across multiple partners and jurisdictions, ensuring consistency while respecting local context. Overseeing brand, content and digital activity in line with UEFA brand guidelines. Building and leading a high-performing Communications & Campaigns team and managing agency partners. Establishing clear governance, evaluation frameworks and KPIs to measure impact and continuously improve delivery. What we’re looking for We’re looking for an experienced communications leader who can combine strategic thinking with practical delivery in a complex and multi-partner, project environment. Confidence advising senior leaders and working collaboratively across organisations. Sound judgement, organisation and the ability to prioritise effectively. Experience of major sporting events or international events is advantageous but not essential. We welcome candidates from a range of sectors — including public service, infrastructure, culture, media or large-scale programmes — who can demonstrate relevant, transferable leadership experience. Where is the role based? Our head office is based at the iconic Wembley Stadium in London, however, depending on your role, you may be required to travel across the UK and Ireland to our 9 Stadiums and 8 Host Cities, with some roles being based in those locations. Because we are an event delivery organisation, time together in person is essential for effective planning and collaboration. In 2026, most colleagues work at least three days a week from Wembley. In 2027, this will increase to 3–4 days a week as operations intensify. In 2028, during tournament delivery, full-time onsite working will be required. Everyone is welcome We’re hiring for excellence through inclusion We’re building a skilled, values-led workforce that reflects the diversity of the UK and Ireland. We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and identities — and we don’t expect everyone to have followed a traditional path to get here. We’ll work with you to ensure you can perform at your best.
