Role Title: Customer Engagement Executive - Marketing

Salary: Up to £30,500 per annum (dependent on experience)

Location: Manchester (hybrid working available, a minimum of two days per week in the Manchester office)

About The Role

Customer engagement is a hugely important function for us at British Cycling, ensuring that everyone we interact with digitally gets the best possible experience. With roots in the marketing department, our approach to creating great interactions combines data, content and creativity to understand our audiences and build positive moments wherever our paths cross.

With involvement in almost everything the organisation is doing, its a great position for someone with an interest in sport (or even better, cycling). Plus, its a really exciting time to join, with our digital transformation plans starting to unfold.

Responsibilities

Support the Customer Engagement Lead to curate user journeys, plan and build email communications and marketing, and constantly optimise our content to ensure it performs to the highest levels.
Our customers are varied and you will need to use data to deliver appropriate content, blending personalised messaging with inspiring imagery.
Analysis of trends and engagement is key, and you will be a champion for accountability and insight. Working independently and with both internal and external stakeholders, you will summarise the effectiveness of activity.
Alongside supporting on our email and surrounding customer channels, you will additionally get involved in planning and executing written content pieces and publishing across multiple platforms, in line with a data-driven editorial calendar.
Covering everything from interviews to training plans, you should have a flexible and fun approach to creating content. Optimising for audience, channel and aim, were looking or someone to bring fresh ideas to our evolving digital infrastructure and excite the cycling community.
Were going through a period of digital transformation which has many moving parts. You will play a central role in the migration of existing content to our new platform.

About You

Technical capabilities and experience

Highly proficient using a customer experience and data platform or CRM (we use DotDigital), including email building, segmentation and automation.
Experience as a data handler, seeing the people within data profiles and using this insight to give every individual a great experience.
A responsible record-keeper, with the ability to manage large data sets and use planning tools.
A brand protector, able to apply a uniform tone and maintain consistency.
A confident copywriter, able to experiment with different styles and approaches to keep British Cycling content fresh, relevant and engaging.
Gives consideration to design, delivery and brand protection.
Three years or more of professional experience in related roles.

Desirable

An understanding of writing for search engine optimisation (SEO).
Knowledge of Google Analytics 4.
Knowledge of website content management systems (CMS).
An interest in cycling and knowledge of different ways to ride.
