A well-established engineering manufacturer in the Teesside area is looking to bring an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer into their team on a permanent basis. The Opportunity As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take ownership of the design and development of mechanical components and systems, working from concept through to production-ready outputs. This is a hands-on role with real variety — no two projects are the same, and you will be working closely with colleagues across engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams to deliver solutions that meet demanding technical specifications. The Role: Design and develop mechanical components and systems using SolidWorks Create detailed schematics and drawings for manufacturing Conduct root cause analysis to troubleshoot design issues Carry out mathematical structural calculations to support design creation and analysis Collaborate with internal teams to ensure designs meet technical specifications What They're Looking For: Proven mechanical design engineering experience Proficient in SolidWorks — including 3D modelling, assemblies, and technical drawings Degree or HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline Strong mechanical knowledge with an understanding of system design SolidWorks Simulation / FEA experience beneficial — training available for the right candidate The Package: £40,000–£45,000 depending on experience Non-contractual performance bonus Monday to Thursday 08:00–16:30, Friday 08:00–15:30 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays Westfield Health cash plan after probation — includes dental, optical, GP appointments, gym discount, and more Free on-site parking If you are a Mechanical Design Engineer based in or around Teesside and are looking for a stable, well-supported role with a business that invests in its people, we would love to hear from you.
