Onsite RoleAre you a data-focused IT professional with a background in database engineering, systems analysis, or infrastructure? Do you thrive in hands-on roles where creative problem-solving and deep technical expertise are key? If so, this Scarborough-based opportunity could be the perfect fit.
We’re looking to attract someone who understands the pace and demands of manufacturing or logistics environments, who’s experienced in improving workflows, managing data-heavy systems, and delivering IT projects with limited resources.
This is a hands-on, predominantly onsite role in a well-established and growing SME. You'll be responsible for leading the company’s IT function, shaping infrastructure and internal systems, and driving data-led improvements across the business. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats; from writing SQL code and managing Windows applications, to supporting users and developing strategic plans.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Leading day-to-day IT operations with a focus on data accuracy, workflow efficiency, and secure system performance.
* Writing and managing SQL code for data extraction, reporting, and integration (SSIS/SSRS).
* Managing IT infrastructure, including virtual servers, network storage, and firewalls.
* Supporting bespoke systems used in production, CRM, and logistics.
* Playing a key role in Windows application support and development.
* Ensuring compliance with ISO27001, licensing, and regulatory standards.
* Developing disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
* Working creatively within the limitations of an SME environment thinking resourcefully, solving problems quickly, and getting hands-on where needed.
* Mentoring a small IT team and building strong cross-functional relationships.
What We’re Looking For:
* Strong SQL skills and experience writing code for data analysis, reporting, or system integration.
* A background in database engineering, systems analysis, or IT infrastructure.
* Experience working in a manufacturing or logistics setting, with a solid understanding of how systems support operational workflows.
* Proven track record of leading projects or improving IT systems in an SME setting.
* Understanding of IT security best practices and ISO27001 compliance.
* A practical, solutions-focused mindset with a calm and collaborative approach.
* Confident communicator who enjoys working closely with stakeholders and making real, measurable impact.
