We are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join the team on our Surrey County Council contract be based out of their Merrow offices in Guildford.
You will assist in the delivery and governance of commercial services to the Maintenance Contract in a manner that achieves value for money for the client and sustainable shareholder value.
Ensure excellence and best practice in the support of the commercial elements of the Contract and ensuring excellence in the engagement and management of the supply chain, contract management and governance.
KEY TASKS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Processing of Applications on the contract.
Processing early warnings and variations
Processing of Subcontractor liabilities
Processing of subcontractor applications for payment
Carry out duties in line with all Company Procedures and Policies
Ensure all work is carried out to correct specification / standard
Use Action Reporting Procedure to plan and implement continuous improvements
All work and operations to meet criteria of Environmental Policies
To work in-line with the European Foundation of Quality Management (EFQM) Model
Experience Required
Quantity Surveying qualification or working towards, experience and time served rather than formal qualifications will be considered.
Quantity Surveyor experience ideally on a Highways contract or Civils/ Construction.
Understanding of cost management systems and ability to learn the Confirm Client Ordering system.
An understanding of the principles of measurement within the
Highways Maintenance environment is desirable.
Strong Excel and systems experience
Experience of Cost Value Reconciliation
