Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Contract | Hampshire | Outside IR35 | 6 Months
A fantastic contract opportunity has become available for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a respected engineering consultancy with a strong track record in delivering high-quality MEP design solutions. This role is for a 6-month contract, based in Hampshire, and falls outside IR35.
With a number of new projects underway, the consultancy is seeking a seasoned engineer to contribute to the design and delivery of a large-scale residential development.
Position Overview
* Create comprehensive mechanical design solutions based on client requirements
* Carry out mechanical services calculations for building systems
* Support the production of technical specifications and equipment schedules
* Conduct feasibility assessments and technical reviews
* Offer technical input and guidance throughout project phases
* Draft technical documentation and project reports
Key Requirements
* Demonstrable experience in mechanical services and HVAC design
* Solid understanding of UK building regulations and industry standards
* Background in residential or multi-unit housing projects
* Skilled in site assessments, load calculations, and ventilation or steam systems
* Proficient with design software, particularly Hevacomp
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively
* Clear communicator with experience in writing reports and presenting findings
* Self-starter who thrives in both team and independent environments
* Supervisory or team-leading experience is a plus
