The apprentice will follow a training plan alongside college coursework to track progress within manufacturing departments. This plan will be signed off by competent trainers and overseen by the training manager. Structured reviews will ensure feedback from both the apprentice and the company, providing support where needed.
Upon completing the apprenticeship, trainees will have the opportunity to join the newly formed 'Technical Lead' team within Daido, offering a clear career pathway either in technical roles or management.
Apprentices will gain experience with CNC equipment, including:
* Leadwell (lathes & mills)
* Mazak (lathes & mills)
* Okuma (lathes)
* Hitachi (lathes)
There is also an opportunity to rotate across different manufacturing departments to broaden understanding of CNC machinery and product knowledge. Each department will have a technical lead to support and train apprentices, with a training plan outlining the machines they will operate. This is a permanent position upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, which lasts three to four years.
The apprenticeship includes:
* Machining Technician Level 3
* Year 1: 2-3 days per week at college
* Years 2-3: 1 day per week at college
Working hours are Monday to Wednesday, 7:00 am to 4:30 pm, and Thursday, 7:00 am to 4:10 pm. College days will be confirmed.
