Job Title: Full-stack Java Developer - Farnborough - Banking Client Location: Based in Farnborough - 2/3 days a week Salary/Rate: Up to £420 per day Start Date: September 2025 Job Type: Inside IR35 Contract Company Introduction: We are currently recruiting a full-stack Java developer on behalf of a global professional services client to work on a project for an international Investment Bank. *The successful candidates must be able to work on-site in Farnborough 2 or 3 days a week* The Tech Stack: Java, Spring, Hibernate Linux, VMware, Openshift, AWS CI/CD Pipelines via Jenkins, Github Actions, Chef, Ansible, Nexus Testing of Database technologies (Postgres or similar) Full end to end quality tool-set Junit, Cucumber, Jmeter or similar performance testing tool Experience with caching technology Kafka or similar streaming technology Job Responsibilities/Objectives: As a Full Stack Java Developer on Core Payments Backend team, you will be responsible for continuing the modernisation of our applications that is geared towards observability, scalability, resiliency, and speed of delivery without compromising on quality within the payment?s ecosystem, including clients' consumers. You will build and release reliable software systems at scale. By partnering with enterprise-wide teams, you?ll develop and maintain full-stack solutions that fit our business needs. You?ll use your holistic view of all products (and their interactions) to design elegant solutions and strategize the future state of our larger technical ecosystem. By independently innovating and advocating for best practices, you?ll solve complex problems and guide the team on implementing solutions from inception to production. Analyse, design, program, test, and deploy new user stories and epics with high quality (security, reliability, operations) to production Tends to Associate Application Engineers by providing learning tasks as well as work-related tasks, directs the work of Senior Associate Application Engineers, and helps them continue to grow Achieves team commitments (and influences others to do the same) by using informal leadership & highly developed communication skills Has an oversight on design decisions and guides the team to achieve key results for products assigned to them Remediates issues using engineering principles and creates proactive design solutions for potential failures Contributes to and potentially leads technology communities for the client This group follows the Agile methodology and works in 2 weeks sprints, each engineer is responsible for writing their own test scripts to achieve full automation
