Structural Engineer - Steelwork
A leading, well-established Structural Steelwork contractor is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer with a strong background in structural steelwork within the construction sector. This role plays a key part in supporting embedded steelwork during construction, ensuring quality, compliance, and the safe delivery of complex structures.
Key Responsibilities
1. Respond to technical queries, non-conformances, and site issues
2. Review embedded steelwork for pools, tanks, and associated structures
3. Provide technical support to contractors and site quality teams
4. Manage design changes, technical queries, and open points
5. Identify, monitor, and mitigate structural and construction risks
6. Produce structural calculations and technical reports in line with industry standards
7. Liaise with clients, architects, and contractors to coordinate and resolve design matters
8. Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations
9. Support project teams from concept design through to construction and completion
Skills & Experience
10. Degree (or equivalent) in Structural or Civil Engineering
11. Proven experience in structural steelwork manufacture or installation
12. Background in welding, fabrication, or fabrication engineering
13. Strong understanding of structural steel within a live construction environment
14. Experience in structural assessment, design review, and technical assurance
15. Knowledge of inspection, acceptance, and handover requirements
