Therapy Assistant

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Our assessment centres, rehabilitation units, and hospitals utilize expert neurorehabilitation to support individuals in regaining lost skills. About us: Stagenhoe, a Brainkind specialist neurological care centre in Hertfordshire, cares for adults with neurological conditions. We provide tailored neurological care, rehabilitation, and support to enhance health, independence, and emotional well-being. Located 8 miles outside Hitchin in St Paul's Walden, access to personal transport is required as we cannot offer sponsorship for this role.
Main Purpose: To assist Therapy staff in delivering high-quality, holistic, person-centred care, helping service users reach their full rehabilitation potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work with the multidisciplinary team to address cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and functional needs.
* Support service users with cancer or other life-limiting illnesses with specialist palliative or neurological needs.
* Promote and support service users’ rights and choices, respecting their beliefs and preferences.
* Report treatment and condition updates to the Therapist promptly and assist with treatment progress.
* Assist with equipment fitting, ensuring safe use, and work with service users and families.
* Coordinate with service users and families to complete forms and gather information.
* Support administrative tasks such as referrals and data recording.
* Maintain accurate service user records in all formats.
* Ensure a safe working environment, uphold confidentiality, and undertake additional reasonable tasks as needed.
About you:
* Understanding of the health/social care sector.
* Experience working with people in care settings is desirable but not essential.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Teamwork experience.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to work within policies and procedures.
* Capable of working under supervision and independently.
* Good organisational and prioritisation skills.
* Ability to build effective working relationships.
