This role is within a unit where Surrey Police and Sussex Police work in collaboration, whilst remaining two separate legal entities/employers with different terms and conditions. Both Surrey Police staff and Sussex Police staff are employed in this unit on their own force terms and conditions. Successful candidates may be appointed on the terms and conditions of employment of either Surrey Police or Sussex Police, depending on organisational requirements. A discussion will be held with the successful candidate to confirm location, salary, allowances and hours. Division / Department: Digital Data & Technology. Grade: Surrey Police Level 1 / Sussex Police M1. Status: Full Time or Flexible Working. Contract Type: Permanent. Salary Grade Range: Surrey Police £44,053 - £57,478 / Sussex Police £49,716 - £54,696. Working Hours: 37.0 Hours per Week. Shift Allowance: No. Politically Restricted: No. Location: Multiple Locations (see advert). The starting salary will usually be at the bottom of the range and pro‑rate if hours less than full time.

The Role & Key Responsibilities
From your first day with us you will be part of a policing family making a real difference. It is our mission to identify and protect vulnerable people, prevent and respond to harm and keep people safe. In this role you will work closely with specific business areas to understand current and future business requirements. You will act as a key point of contact throughout the lifecycle of projects, representing DDaT at project and portfolio boards where required. As a trusted liaison for senior business stakeholders, you will ensure initiatives align with strategic technology roadmaps and help optimise technical capabilities across the organisation. This includes guiding stakeholders to adopt solutions such as Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and AI‑driven tools to deliver smarter, more efficient ways of working.

Skills & Experience
* A good understanding of policing, with the ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organisation.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the capability to articulate complex concepts clearly and confidently.
* Strong consulting skills, with an aptitude for influencing and enabling others.
* Ability to get to the heart of customer requirements and consider these within the broader context of organisational change.
* Knowledge of, or appetite to identify, opportunities for AI, Generative AI, and automation to support planning and improve efficiency.
* The ability to work closely with customers to translate their plans into technology roadmaps and prioritise that work in collaboration with DDaT colleagues.
* Advanced technical IT skills or proven experience in DDaT specialities are not essential but welcomed.
