Our A Level in Accounting will give you an understanding of the responsibilities of the accountant and help build knowledge of the concepts, principles and techniques.

What will I study?
Over the next two years, you'll delve into a wide array of captivating topics:
* An introduction to the role of the accountant in business
* Types of business organisation
* The double entry model
* Verification of accounting records
* Accounting concepts used in the preparation of accounting records
* Preparation of financial statements of sole traders
* Limited company accounts
* Analysis and evaluation of financial information
* Budgeting
* Marginal costing
* Standard costing and variance analysis
* Absorption and activity-based costing
* Capital investment appraisal
* Accounting for organisations with incomplete records
* Partnership accounts
* Accounting for limited companies
* Interpretation, analysis, and communication of accounting information
* The impact of ethical considerations
These modules aren't just about numbers; they're about uncovering financial secrets, making strategic decisions and ethics of the financial world to prepare you for progression to university or employment.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
You will complete two three hour exams at the end of your second year. These exams are on:
* Financial accounting
* Accounting for analysis and decision making
Entry requirements
You will need:
* 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English and maths and, for this specific subject;
* GCSE grade 5 or above in English language and maths
* GCSE grade 5 or above in accounting (if taken)
