The Role
We are looking for a dynamic Football Coach to bridge the gap between elite sports coaching and school-based support. This isn't just about running drills; it's about using your management skills and sporting authority to engage students who may struggle in a traditional classroom setting.
You will represent the Blackpool Academy brand, working within local schools to deliver high-quality coaching while acting as a lead mentor. You will use the discipline and teamwork of football to teach vital life skills: resilience, emotional regulation, and professional conduct.
Key Responsibilities
In-School Coaching: Deliver structured football sessions that align with the Academy's philosophy while meeting school PE requirements.
Managing Behaviour: Use your coaching "presence" to manage challenging behaviour, using sport as a tool for de-escalation and engagement.
Mentorship: Work 1:1 or in small groups with students, helping them transfer the "winning mindset" from the pitch to their academic work.
Planning & Assessment: Manage your own session plans and track student progress, providing feedback to both the Academy and school leadership.
Transferable Skills We Are Looking For
We value your experience on the touchline. We are specifically looking for:
Leadership & Management: The ability to command a group's attention and manage diverse personalities.
Adaptability: The skill to change a "game plan" on the fly when a student is having a difficult day.
Communication: Being able to speak the language of young people while maintaining professional boundaries with school staff and parents.
Discipline: Carrying the high standards of a professional Academy into every school corridor.
Requirements
Coaching Qualification: FA Level 1 or 2 (UEFA C) is essential.
Experience: Previous work within a football academy or professional sports setting.
Reliability: A consistent, professional approach-our schools and students need a coach they can rely on.
DBS: Must be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check (or hold a current one on the update service).
Why This Role?
Steady Income: A guaranteed £515 per week (before tax), providing more stability than typical "pay-per-session" coaching.
Career Growth: Build a unique CV that combines elite sports coaching with educational management.
Blackpool Academy Pride: Represent a professional club and make a real impact on the local community.
