International Sales Manager - Capital Equipment (Global Markets)
Location: Heywood, Greater Manchester
Salary: £60,000 + bonus and benefits
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
First 6 months office based.
Once probation passed and confirmed in post, 1 - 2 Days in the office.
Travel 1-2 times per month (global) and away for 1 week at a time.
About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading UK-based engineering manufacturer seeking an experienced International Sales Executive to drive sustainable global sales growth across a portfolio of high‑value, technically advanced capital equipment.
This is a fully end‑to‑end sales role, managing the entire process from initial enquiry and technical specification through to order confirmation and product shipment. You will play a key part in strengthening the organisation's international presence by building long-term customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and representing the brand at industry events worldwide.
The role requires someone with strong cultural awareness, commercial acumen, and confidence engaging with both technical and commercial stakeholders across diverse global markets.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Management & Delivery
Own the full sales cycle from enquiry to shipment, ensuring a professional and consistent customer experience.
Build and maintain strong, culturally sensitive relationships with customers across multiple regions.
Produce accurate quotations and technical specifications within agreed commercial parameters.
Deliver presentations, seminars, and support industry events to strengthen brand visibility.
Contribute to marketing activities in line with the global corporate framework.
Achieve sales targets within assigned territories and proactively manage your sales pipeline.
Commit to regular international travel as an essential component of the role.
Business Development
Identify, qualify, and develop new international opportunities while nurturing long‑term strategic customer relationships.
Maintain and progress a structured sales pipeline aligned with commercial objectives.
Collaborate with internal engineering and commercial teams to translate customer requirements into compelling proposals.
Develop a deep understanding of the full product portfolio to position solutions effectively in diverse markets.
Skills & Experience Required
Functional Skills
Proven track record in commercial or export sales within a technical or engineering environment-capital equipment experience highly desirable.
Experience with bespoke or engineered‑to‑order solutions is a strong advantage.
Strong international sales capability with the ability to communicate confidently with both technical and commercial contacts.
Experience working with both large multinational clients and owner-managed businesses.
Consultative sales approach with the ability to tailor solutions to customer requirements.
Personal Attributes
High cultural awareness and the ability to build trust across international markets.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills.
Self‑motivated, organised, and capable of managing complex, long sales cycles independently.
Professional, adaptable, and confident when representing the company globally.
Education & Background
Engineering education is advantageous but not essential.
Demonstrable experience managing high-value international sales projects.
Prior experience with international travel and cross‑border business.
Strong commercial and sales acumen.
Proficiency in English; additional languages are beneficial.
Experience in the flexible packaging sector is desirable.
