About this Role
The Sustainability Senior Manager at Brookfield Asset Management is a crucial role within the Renewable Power and Transition team, focused on supporting their Global Transition Fund Strategy. This strategy is dedicated to accelerating the global transition towards a net‑zero economy. Reporting to the Chief Sustainability Officer, the role involves working closely with investment teams, portfolio companies, and global sustainability leads to assess and embed sustainability across the investment lifecycle. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to global decarbonization efforts in collaboration with investment professionals and portfolio companies across various geographies. The role includes leading the implementation of Brookfield’s sustainability strategy, conducting due diligence on sustainability factors, managing regulatory assessments, and engaging with stakeholders effectively. The candidate will also contribute to developing innovative sustainability tools and frameworks, establishing Brookfield as a leader in sustainable investing.
Responsibilities
* Lead the implementation of Brookfield’s sustainability and impact strategy across Global Transition Funds.
* Partner with global M&A and regional sustainability teams to integrate sustainability value creation during investment evaluation.
* Conduct sustainability due diligence for potential acquisitions, ensuring alignment with internal frameworks.
* Manage SFDR and EU Taxonomy assessments, reporting, and disclosure processes.
* Represent Brookfield in investor meetings, industry forums, and other stakeholder engagements.
* Define and refine success metrics to assess sustainability performance across investments.
* Collaborate on the design and implementation of future sustainability strategies.
Requirements
* 7‑10 years of experience in sustainability, ESG, or impact investing within energy, infrastructure, or financial sectors.
* Expertise in carbon accounting, climate risk analysis, and ESG due diligence.
* Deep understanding of climate science and relevant reporting frameworks (e.g., TCFD, GHG Protocol).
* Proven success in applying SFDR and EU Taxonomy regulations.
* Exceptional analytical and communication skills.
* Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, Economics, or Public Policy; Master’s preferred.
