My client, the market leader in offering container transport and distribution services, is seeking a professional experienced Transport Planner to join their team on a permanent basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an organisation that has over 40 depots across the country and prides themselves on the service they provide to both internal and external customers.
Your new role
The position is being offered full time and working fromfortable offices.
Some of your duties will include but not limited to
Dealing with drivers via phone and face to face
Continuousmunication with ports
Booking delivery slots
Updating internal system (TOPS)
Chasing drivers for timings and updating the system accordingly
Re-routing and planning as necessary
Dealing with possible delays and speaking directly to customers if required
Checking all PODS are assigned correctly to the correct jobs.
Providing a first class service every time
Making sure all documentation is correct the first time
What you'll need to succeed
You must possess previous experience in transport planning, ideally within containers.
Strong attention to detail
Greatmunication skills both written and verbal
Very well-organised
Excellent UK geographical knowledge
Ability to work on your own initiative
