Due to continued expansion, an apprentice Garden Maintenance Operative is required to join a small team specialising in garden maintenance contracts, working at both domestic gardens and a number of large estates.
With an expanding client base, we are looking to recruit a permanent, full-time apprentice garden maintenance assistant to work in the Newmarket and Cambridge area.
The successful applicant will be working alongside experienced operatives on a variety of outdoor projects.
The Level 2 Holticulture/Landscape operative apprenticeship will be a work based assessment program, overseen by Suffolk New College, with a typical duration of the course being 24 months.
Hours: 8 hours per day, 5 days a week, Monday-Friday
Package: £16,500-£20,800 dependant on Age, work uniform, additional overtime pay, pension, additional training and company benefits.
Responsibilities:
* Delivering high quality workmanship

* Work towards a good Health and Safety practices to ensure safe working
Level 2 Horticulture/ Landscape operative apprenticeship, including:
* Emergency first aid: Level 3 award in emergency first aid at work.
* Pesticides: PA1
* Importance and application of health and safety legislation
* Codes of practice and policies, including risk assessment, manual handling etc
* Concepts of good environmental and sustainable good practices, and much more

Qualifications: Math and English GCSE Grade 4 desirable or discussion for completion of Functional Skills Maths and English if not achieved.
* Much of the work is outside in all weathers. The work itself will physical.
* You MUST not be in any other form of full-time or part time formal education (such as school, college or university) to be eligible to apply for an apprenticeship.
* You MUST have lived in the UK for a minimum of 3 years prior to the start of learning and be eligible to work in the UK.
* You MUST be located in an area local to the apprenticeship or be prepared to relocate in time to start employment and study.
* This apprenticeship is approximately 24 months.
